What is Entertaiment?
Entertaiment is the act of entertaining; something affording pleasure, diversion, or amusement: a play, ball, or musical performance. It can also refer to an agreeable occupation for the mind, such as solving a crossword puzzle or reading a good book.
The etymology of entertainment is uncertain. The earliest attestation is in Middle French. It could be from the Latin intertenere, with the prefix inter meaning ‘inside’ and tenere a root from the Indo-European word for ‘hold.’ Alternatively, it may be from the Latin entente, a contraction of the verb entertain.
Entertainment is a form of art that hits on the things the human mind was evolved to react deeply to, such as social backstabbing, murders, and other themes that are part of the world we live in. It also stimulates the brain to realease seratonin and dopamine.
