Entertaiment in Different Media

Entertaiment

Entertaiment is a popular word primarily associated with amusement, although the experience of many forms of entertainment may have a deeper serious purpose. This is the case with ceremonial or religious festivals, satire and some sports. Even activities that were once used for hunting or war, such as archery or fencing, have been transformed into spectator sports. One of the most familiar examples of the power of a form of entertainment to cross into different media is the story of Scheherazade from the Persian professional storytelling tradition, which has inspired orchestral works by Rimsky-Korsakov and Ravel, film adaptations by Pasolini and innovative video games.
